Meet Ali

Ali is our Dreadlock Extensions Artist specialising in synthetics.

Ali began the dreadlocks journey with Jon in 2015, when they impulsively decided to put a single dreadlock in her hair. Learning together along the way, Jon did Ali's dreads and Ali did Jon's, and has maintained his ever since.

​

When Jon went down the path of maintenance, and creating new fellow dreadheads, Ali went down the dreadlock extensions path and can now create a range of styles of synthetic and human hair dread options, with a variety of differently finished ends. 

​

Ali is also a Professional Body Piercer.

After solely making extensions and installing braid-in extensions for a couple of years, when the UnorthoDOXX Studio was opened in March 2023 Ali attained a piercing qualification to be able to provide piercings from the studio alongside the dreadlocks.  This has been a popular service amongst our dreadheads and the local community, with a vast portfolio being created of fresh and well healed piercings. Ali also attends the Association of Professional Piercers UK Conference every year now as a continued development in her piercing career and this learning will never stop. 

With her clinical background as a Health Care Assistant for 11 years, she has gained knowledge and experience about infection prevention and control, basic life support and first aid, bloodborne pathogens, and holds a Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology.

Ali is the calm energy in the Studio, she will make you feel relaxed and seen, whether it is a piercing, a dreadlock extension consult, or braid in session.
